Located in the Flint Hills, just to the southeast of Florence, KS is the home of Dr. W.B. Jones
Built in 1878
Beautiful stone work
Dr. Jones and his wife Sara had 7 sons. They only lived in this beautiful home for a few years.
The moon keeps watch over the majestic homestead.
You need to sell some coffee table books, my dear. You’re pictures are STUNNING.

Thanks! That’s a great idea!!
I was so blessed to come across this home. It is so close to a pasture in the Flint Hills that is very dear to me, my precious mother’s final resting place. I can see an angel in the clouds!!!

Who is Dr Jones?

He was a Doctor who practiced medicine in Missouri and Kansas. He was only in the Florence area for a couple of years. They didn’t live in the house very long. I don’t think I could ever leave that place! Quite a home. He died in 1905 and is buried in Baxter Springs, KS. Sometime on my way to Missouri I will stop and try to find his grave.

Bet that would be neat to go to that cemetery. Did anyone live in the house after they left?

I didn’t find anything on other residents that lived there. It has been part of a couple of the big ranches in the area.

It’d be hard to live in a house branded with someone else’s name. 🙂

That house is awesome. Looks so “at home” there.

Oh great, I will look at it. Are you signed up with them to locate graves? I just signed up a couple of weeks ago.
