Heeeee! I’ve been to all of these places! Did you get photos of the “guest book” at the Bazaar Cemetery? I just love that they allow plantings of real flowers there. I love the triangular stone marker at the Bazaar church, too. It’s such a pretty building.

I did not photograph the first book. Will check it out! I was smiling as I went back and picked those photos, knowing that you would certainly recognize them!! Such a beautiful part of Kansas!

Did you know that Zebulon Pike camped very near Bazaar on his way to points west? That was one of the most fascinating things about Bazaar for me. I’ve never seen a memorial book in an outdoor cemetery before — that was really cool.

The other thing is that there are some Ingalls buried there. I grew up with Laura Ingalls Wilder’s “Little House” books, and I know her family moved to Kansas for a year. I couldn’t help wondering if there was a connection!

Lots of history around Bazaar including the place crash of Knute Rockne, Notre Dame football coach in the early 30’s. I went to school with some Ingalls and never once thought if it were possible for them to be related to Laura!
