6 Years Old

It just doesn’t seem possible that Wylie is 6 years old!!  I always bake him a “cake” and of course there are presents.  This year I decided to make “cupcakes”.  Following a basic meatloaf recipe, his cupcake was made of elk, carrots, and spinach.   A cupcake wouldn’t be complete without frosting.  Wylie’s frosting is plain mashed potatoes (no salt or butter).  Happy Birthday, Wylie❤️

Gosh, this is wonderful. But — elk! I saw pronghorn on my trip, and I’d read that there are elk in Kansas, but of course I didn’t see any of those. As I recall, herds were introduced in Morton County and up by Fort Riley. Lucky Wylie, to have some for his birthday!

My kitty is nearly sixteen now. She’s a dear thing, but we can’t celebrate her exact birthday, because I only know she was “about” four months old when I got her. Still, she’s one of those who thinks every day is her day, so it doesn’t really matter.

Merry Christmas to you and yours — and a birthday scratch to Wylie!

I actually prefer elk over beef! I shot a large bull elk a few years ago, that’s what started me eating elk. It’s available at few locker plants around the area.
Of course your kitty thinks everyday is her birthday!! 16!! That’s wonderful!
      Wishing you a Merry Christmas

Wylie had a great birthday! He was a bit impatient with all the photos I wanted to take.
I made Mr. Farmer a “cupcake” too. And no he did NOT participate in singing “Happy Birthday”
Wishing you a very Wonderful Christmas!!

Time flies when you’re having fun! Harry is a cross breed, staffy crossed with a border terrier, we think! We rescued him from a shelter ten years ago. Merry Christmas to you. 😊

Animals are such an importing element in our lives. I especially love dogs. Molly’s is such a pretty lady and she certainly is well behaved. I’m so looking forward to another trip out your way come spring.

I enjoy your blog…..our thoughts run pretty parallel!

Wishing you and your family a blessed 2017
