Sunrise welcomes a hot (not quite) summer day. Doesn’t seem possible that the summer solstice is just a few days away.
My butterfly milk weed and spiderwort are beautiful this year.
While I was watering the zinnias I this guy crawled out of the mud.
Peonies were so pretty, but I lost a lot of honeysuckle (that grew on the chicken fence) to the cold weather we had in February.

Thank you. Wishing you a happy summer too. My favorite part of summer is the long hours of daylight NOT the hot temperatures. I’m a spring and autumn person!

I am with you when it comes to summer temperatures. We’ve just had our first full week of heat, and believe me — the first couple of days working in that wasn’t easy. It takes just a little time to become accustomed to it.
Your peonies are beautiful. My mother and grandmother both grew them; Grandma called them “PINE-ies.” Your muddy little frog is adorable. I’ve been trying for two years to find a frog, and there you are, with one in your flower bed. I’m jealous!

I don’t think I can ever become accustomed to the heat, especially when it is accompanied with high humidity. I’m an AC girl, but even then some places you go to are too cold!! I take a cashmere wrap!
I love “PINE-ies, mostly I hear it pronounced “pee O nies”, however one says it, they are beautiful!! We have SO many toads, a little blue lizard, a skink, lots of baby bunnies, and a huge garter snake (eeww). Wylie enjoys them all, except for the snake. He doesn’t like all the screaming that happens anytime the snake appears!!
