Today was the first cool morning we’ve had all week. It was wonderful to be out for an early morning walk.
A little sun dog.
We were out just after sunrise. In fact we woke up a little fawn that was in the tall grass along side the road. I wasn’t able to get any photos of it as I had to get ahold of Wylie! The little fawn ran along the road and then went back into the tall grass. Mom was out in the field watching!!
Cone Flowers Echinacea growing in the ditch. Some people use the flower buds and leaves for tea. I was taught to dig the root for tea. That’s what I drank last winter to boost my immune system. Just steep the root and enjoy!!
My therapy. We are so blessed to be out on the backroads. No other sounds, just Nature
Headed home from our walk, cowboys were in the pasture gathering cattle. Beautiful morning to be on horseback. Wishing you a wonderful blessed day.
Beautiful!

This looks so wonderful. We’re beginning our days around 80 degrees with humidity, so refreshing early morning walks aren’t so common. May was a lovely month, but May’s in the rear-view mirror at this point! I loved seeing that empty road, and it was interesting to read about the fawn. They’re everywhere now, it seems. Many people are finding them tucked into their lawns and gardens here; it’s so amazing that the mamas seem to know where the safe places are. It’s good that people are learning to leave them alone, and not worry about them. Every mother needs a little alone time, and a quiet fawn rarely is abandoned.
That prairie photo is wonderful. I don’t know if I can manage it, but I’m hoping to get up that way again this fall. We’ll see. I have a lot of catching up to do at work before I can “vacate”!

Our walks came to a halt! It’s over 100 today with the morning starting in the mid 70 with humidity. That will bring on the harvest!! Looking forward to your trip up! Starting this fall there’s a direct flight into Salina!

This road is only a few miles away from home. I do love the our morning walks! The peace and serenity before the rush of the day. It’s so rare that one only hears nature, no car traffic, mowers or civilization noises. Thanks for “walking with us”.
