Everything Is Full

Tornado warned thunderhead east of Salina, KS

Most of the reservoirs in Kansas are at record capacity levels.  This is Tuttle Creek Dam in Manhattan, KS  Yesterday  5/28/19 the elevation was 1133.27 MSL (58.27 above normal pool).  Today they began increasing the release of water.  Water is being released from the outlet tubes and not the emergency spillway.

Gates of the emergency spillway.

Flooding between Abilene and Enterprise.

Today was a beautiful day with no rain.  Just waiting for it to dry out so I can get on the mower.

A Few Beautiful Days Of May

After the flooding in early May be had some days that were so wonderful.

Always enjoy walking on one of our favorite backroads.

Beautiful Mother’s Day flowers from my son and his family. Thank you!! I love you all so much.

With rain in the forecast I cut some of my peonies. Oh no rain!

Flooding

We’ve had a lot of rain over the last couple of days. The Mulberry Creek is out of her banks. I don’t know how much rain we’ve received as my cute little rain gauge froze last winter and I haven’t put the new one up yet. It’s on my “to do list” for tomorrow.

The back roads around us all look the same.

The road to the north.

The road to the south.

The blacktop into town was closed in multiple places. It’s amazing how many people go past the barricades and drive thru the flood waters.

Miles of gravel roads will need repaired.

Flooded fields

Prayers for all who are affected by the flooding.
