That last photo is an absolute stunner. It belongs in one of those tourism brochures that the state produces! I did spend some time looking at those red leaves and white berries. I suspect that might be poison ivy — yes? I’m getting better at spotting it, but when it and the Virginia Creeper both are in their autumn finery, I can get confused.

Thank you so much for the wonderful compliment on my photo! I hadn’t planned on going walking at sunrise, but looked out and saw the clouds with a small break for the sun to rise in, and we loaded up quickly and drove to one of our favorite backroads. The sunrise this morning was exceptionally beautiful! Thankful we didn’t miss it.
The red leaves were concerning to me too. On the iPhone, after you take the photo you swipe up and there is “Look Up-plant “ and it did say it was a Virginia Creeper. It also will “Look Up-dog” and it identifies Wylie as an Australian Shepherd or a Papillon. He gets called a Papillon a lot, just because of his size then they see that he doesn’t have a tail.

The white berries were the tip off. I just used my PictureThis app, and it identified the plant as poison ivy. Virginia Creeper has five leaves, and poison ivy groups of three. I went looking, and found this really helpful page.

What?! I’m so thankful I practice “if your not sure, don’t touch it”!!! My iPhone identified it as Virginia Creeper, but I should of know not to trust it as it identifies Wylie as a Papillon!!
