It was a beautiful day to spend outside watching the eclipse. Although we weren’t in the path of totality, we did get a bit darker and the breeze was a little cooler.
I took this photo with the sun shining through a colander during the eclipse. I saw this idea from the last eclipse in 2017.

cool photo. We took pictures of our fingers laced together and half moons showed. The air was cooler I commented on it. Was fun with grandkids

Thanks Gwenna. I’d like to see your photo! It was such a beautiful day to be outside viewing the eclipse. Thankful it wasn’t during the weekend – that was windy!!!!
Grandkids are always such a joy!!

You were luckier than we were; we had quite a bit of cloud cover, although we were able to watch the progression of the event. I used that same trick in 2017, as well as taking photos of the light coming through the trees. It’s quite a sight — and we felt that wind rising, too!

We were blessed with clear skies, that were also free from smoke. It’s been so smoky with the burning in the Flint Hills.
I looked at the trees also but didn’t see anything. Were the trees without leaves or were they all leafed out?
Is this the last eclipse for a while?
