Wayside Chapel – Garfield, KS
Wayside Chapel is a memorial to the Congregational Church, which was built in 1875.
The bell is from our 20th President James Garfield in appreciation for the town being named after him.
Travelers along Highway 56 are encouraged to pause for prayers to God on life’s journey
Love the sign
Autumn leaves, Jesus doesn’t
Assembly of God Church – Sharon, KS
Re-purposed church
That IS a great sign. 💖 These pictures are wonderful. They seem a bit different from other Sundays. I love them all. This is my church service lately, joining you in Kansas. 🙂

I get my religion out in nature! I put Wylie in the chapel photo for size comparison. He’s a little varmint, the chapel doesn’t seat very many souls.
I’m really excited about next weeks series!!!!
Thanks for going to church with me❤️️

I saw one of these little chapels, but I don’t think it was this one, even though I was on that portion of Highway 56. The one I saw (as I remember) was at the edge of a field rather than in a park, and I decided not to turn around and go back. Now, I’m sorry I didn’t.

Were you possibly on Hwy 150 that cuts across from Strong City (at Elmdale) to Marion? There is a little white chapel in a field on that road.
Have a wonderful day! It’s still nice a warm here in Kansas with a chance of rain tonight. That would certainly be welcome!!

Yea, you! That’s exactly where I was. When I left Matfield Green, I made one last pass through the Tallgrass Prairie, then went back to 150 on my way to Great Bend and etc, heading toward Monument Rocks. This is one reason I love the internet. Two people who’ve never met, sharing the same landmarks. It’s so cool.

That was just finished recently. My brother told me that landowner built it so if people were so inclined they would stop and pray.

I just was looking at the quake map from the Cushing quake tonight, and saw it was felt well into Kansas. Did you folks feel it? Everything ok?

We didn’t feel this one, but my Aunt did in Wichita. This seems more than “just fracking “. We felt the one before this and its such a strange eerie feeling. Thanks so much for checking on us!!

I’ve felt a few, and it can be unnerving. Glad all’s well.
